I have been invited to a party in 2 weeks time, a Cowboy party, and there is going to be a mechanical Bull. Is it safe to ride this thing and should I practise some horse riding again (after many years) beore I venture on this thing? Any safety tips?

  1. I have been on one. I did not last a second. They have sponge surrounding the bull to catch your fall. It is not dangerous but one sure is 'rikked' and 'plikked' (spelling?) in all directions. The only advice I can give you is to hold on for dear life, don't wear a dress and don't drink or eat too much before. Oh and wear a sports bra! But have fun!

Turniton would of course need his Nut Bra. Can't have those things knocking the spectators out.

  2. Just as long as you train them properly, they're very user-friendly.

  3. Don´t try milking it! And hou vas. Wear a neck brace! Take a look at these videos:

And here are instructions and tips on how to ride a mechanical bull:

Good luck!  Let us know how it was.

  4. A Bull is never safe in SA, especially with all the dirty talk about the ANC

  5. I haven't ridden one, but I don't think practising riding horses again is going to make a difference, unless a bee has stung the horse on his backside.

I've seen that stuff on tv and I think it's more about being flung from side to side than actual riding. Those things can be set to different levels of difficulty too, and seeing that it's a party and no one is supposed to get hurt, I don't think it will be that difficult to ride it. I think you should just go and enjoy it. No horse riding is going to prepare you for it. Enjoy!

  6. I would have thought the mechanical bull was intended as practise for the real bull, not the other way around, must have been mistaken....

Just mount it and hold on for dear life, there no substitute for experience.

  7. The Bull should be safe , just make sure the "landing zones" are nice and soft....

Oh and there are more fun ways to practice than horse riding...wink,wink...
