  1. No.  They are not air tight.  You can prove that by placing a sealed and empty bottle in a sink filled with water for a few minutes.  Then take it out and see the water inside the pill bottle

  4. The only ones that are air proof (to a degree) are the ones that have to be spun on.  The brown ones with the white tops usually are slide on and are not.  If you need a bottle to be, try buying some travel bottles made for liquids (shampoo, ect).

  6. More or less. Plastic is not an air tight material per se, and oxygen actually penetrates plastic, but at a greatly decreased rate.

    This helps increase the longevity of the material inside and the expiration date.
