  1. Not really,it depends on who you are and who you have in your pocket. My boys are #%@#%@ because I married the wrong man and so they have a "bad name" Not their fault but they will pay for my mistake unless they want to move to a totally different area,So I would have to say in America you are protected or not protected because of your name!

  2. In the bulk of the 1st World, the laws are very much anti men. Most victims of violence are men, yet the only law that deal with violence by s*x in the US is the Violence Against Women Act. The US has a Federal office of Women's Health, in spite of the fact that women outlive men by about 7 years, and, that at the average age of a woman's first heart attack, an equivalent man is already dead. And, so on. Laws about domestic violence tend to treat men as ALWAYS the assaulter, in spite of the fact that about 50% of all domestic assault victims are men.

The laws regarding child custody and divorce are similarly misandristic. We are lied to that child support is for the children. Yet, while 80% of custodial mothers in the US are awarded such support, only 30% of custodial fathers are awarded such support *for their children.

As Bill Maher said it, the west is a completely feminised culture.

  3. I'm no expert in cross-cultural comparisons of DV laws, but they seem to be worst in India (new 2006 Act + 1960s Dowry laws) and second worst in the US (VAWA). In other Western countries it is more a case of how the local legal system chooses to prosecute individual cases. However because these days men are seen as always the perpetrator and women always the victim men are blamed whether they are the victim or the perpetrator. To my knowledge this cuts across all Western countries, though worse in some than others.

  4. Welcome to the feminized world. This is from one Indian to another.

No, they aren't protected. That's what the feminists say.

Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) in the USA allows a woman to throw a man in jail without need of evidence. Suppose I'm a vengeful woman who wants to get back at my husband for watching EURO 2008 when my favourite soap was on. I just punch myself once, and call the police, and they'll haul him off. It's that sexist.

Domestic Violence Act in India is more sexist. If I call the cousin brother of someone who was my girlfriend in 1975 a nag, I could be locked up! This is incredible!

Bottom line: Men aren't protected anywhere. Women are the predators, we're the prey, and it's open season.
