I have VERY painful menstrual cramp. They are sometimes to the point where I start crying or can't stand up. I just want to know if I'm the only person in the world with these symptoms.

  1. My period pain (thankfully) only lasts the first day, so I usually try to sleep as much as I can to rush it along, but I def. know how you feel. My pains are so bad its hard to stand up straight, and it feels like sharp claws just going at the inside of my lower tummy. Holding it tight doesnt help. Heat doesnt help. Its just agony.

So no youre not alone. :(

  2. Yes, there are other women like you. And no, you shouldn't be cramping to the point of making you cry! If your cramps are that bad, there are things your gynecologist can do for you. It sounds like your periods are way too heavy. Your doc can put you on low dose birth control pills (something like YAZ pills) to make your periods and cramping lighter. Even if you aren't having s*x. The doctor can also do what's called a "D & C" procedure which will scrape out the inside of the uterus so you don't bleed or cramp as badly. It's a little uncomfortable but you will be asleep and won't feel the "surgery". They give you pain meds after and you should be up and about in a day or two. It's not major surgery. There are several other options for relief, which you will need to speak to your doctor about. Cramps shouldn't disable you like that. And, again, you aren't alone. Take about 3 Advil (600 mg), twice a day, until you can get to the doctor. Hang in there sweetie - there is help for you!

  3. No you are not alone, so don't worry (:

I have been unable to stand once due to the pain and one of my friends has fainted because her cramps are so bad.

Keep taking pain killers (such as ibuprofen), but if the pain continues, maybe you should consider seeing a doctor for some stronger medication.

Other things you could do are:

    - have a warm bath

    - go for a walk/do some yoga, or something else similar - basically, do some light exercise

    - place a hot water bottle on your lower stomach

Try to avoid eating sugary and salty foods, and try not to drink to much caffeine

If nothing helps, just get into your most comfy pjs and make a date with a feel good movie and a big bar of chocolate

    Hope you feel better soon!

  4. You are not the only one. Go talk to your doctor about it. There are prescription drugs specially for menstrual cramps. My best friend has some. She gets so bad that she's actually sick to her stomach and the pills her doctor gave her help sooo much.

  5. You are not alone. Cramps can feel like death-they have for me-and yes, to the point of crying. You should talk to your Dr. because they do have medication for when they are really bad - and just to make sure nothing is wrong in there. I use advil and swear by it for cramps! You are not the only one in the world with this!!!!!!!! And I am almost 40 and they are still bad. I thought they got better with age but apparently not.
