Why is women that are deluded, idiots or liars? A lot of us modern women don't have one particular religion, some of us are atheists and some of us believe in all religions. Quoting parts of the English version of the bible just shows how desperate one is in an argument. It isn't a book to be taken literally, it is a result of direct translation and the original text probably didn't read quite like that. Also which version of the bible are you basing your thesis on? There are over 36 versions besides the fact that the original English version of the bible left out some major scriptures ie the Mary Magdalene ones amongst other things. If modern women choose to be Christians then that is their choice and nobody else has the right to interfere in it. Each to their own whereas religion is concerned. In my mind, Jesus was a peace-loving person who didn't really differentiate between gender. He comes across as a prophet who loved everyone equally and didn't discriminate. His teachings have been taken way out of context and I don't think the real Jesus would be too pleased to hear that his teachings are used to provoke wars and so on across the world.

Ahh, nothing like a good spot of bible thumping to start the day. I'd say that it's more deluded to base your life around a book that was first written in Hebrew, then Aramaic, then Latin, then Greek, then finally English + every other language. Given that Hebrew & English will not accurately transliterate, never mind the other languages, just how much of what you read is going to be utter bollocks, some 4th century academic's best guess at what he was reading.

Christian teachings, that is the teachings of Christ, as in the Gospels, are not opposed to feminist doctrine, indeed Christ's treatment of Mary Magdalene was in direct contrast to his disciples attitude towards women.  Ephesians is part of the legacy of St Paul and included in the Bible by the essentially misogynist early Roman church.  So take your pick.

we know how to get it,

the male opinion is no longer needed,

we are very capable of surviving on ourselves,

it is pretty difficult to be both i should think. After all the bible is the handbook of a controlling patriarchal mindset. i think the original idea was to supress women from their inherant power as life giver, and dominant force throughout creation. so no. id be a feminist. but never a christian. They're just honest. Being Christians they believe in Christ Jesus who, as i'm sure you know, believed in the equality of women...remember the Samaritan woman at the well, Martha & Mary, Mary of Magdela and of course his own Mum, Mary. If you know your Bible so well, you'd also know that every chapter regarding these women show their strength, grace & courage...very modern traits methinks...not unlike today's woman...Brit or from anywhere else the world.
