  1. Mollies are more Brackish water fish and like a little salt in the aquarium to act as a buffer.  I would do platties if anything at all.

8 Tiger Barbs are fine with 5 Zebra Danios.  I have never had any problems with mine...and have had them in there for 2 years.  Though Tiger Barbs are considered Semi-agressive...and fin nippers...usually they go after fish with long fins.  I guess your Danios are the short fin version...which I also have...but even if they are not...Tiger Barbs tend to stay in the middle of the aquarium.  I also have some Leopard Danios with long fins and have never had a problem with the Tigers nipping them.

Stay away from crabs...some of these little critters will start feeding on your fish.  Anything with a claw used for fishing is a bad idea with a tank of fish.

    Consider some cory cats.

    SO to recap...

    8 Tiger Barbs

    5 Zebra Danios

5 Cory Cats (all one type...I like albinos...but there are a variety)

This is a great tank right here...to add platties, to me is a little off...besides these little guys breed like crazy and the fry will be eaten unless seperated.

You could add a Dwarf Pleco also.  The reg Plecos get 18 inches and you wouldnt want that in this tank.

Get some Ghost Shrimp and 1 Mystery Snail (Black or Golden is your choice) to add some variety.  The Ghost Shrimp are excellent cleaners and double for snacks for the fish.

Have lots of medium to small plant cover.  And get a stump or log decor from the pet store...this will give your pleco and cories places to hid.

    Best of Luck!

  2. yes you absolutely can

and it's not overstocked as of yet

    you could add the following

    3 mollies

    3 platies

    1 pair bristle nose plecos

  3. First of all, your tank is pretty crowded as it is.. Especially when your fish get full size.. I wouldn't add anything else in there.

Second of all, no way.  Actually I'm sort of surprised you're not having any problems with the tigers and danios.

Tiger Barbs are notorious fin-nippers, and are classified as semi-aggressive.

Danios are pretty hearty fish. so they'll probably be fine for now.

  4. Hi,

Yeah platties or mollies would be fine in that tank if the danios survived then they will.

Any community fish will go in the tank but don't get anything to small like minnows etc.
