Are mosquitos attracted more to certain blood types? Or is this a myth?

Like people I know say mosquitos like Blood type O lol and that's why I get bitten all the time, meanwhile my dad never, ever gets bitten.

  1. No truth to it.

    However, mosquitoes are more attracted to men, dirty people as opposed to clean people, and older people as opposed to younger people.


  2. I'm an O and I get bitten all the time, it's not even funny. Not just mosquitoes, too.

    People I live with use the same shampoos, soaps, even perfumes, but never get bitten when I'm around.

    For instance, in a group of ten people, five mosquitoes would choose to feed on me, even in an outdoor setting. I swear.

  4. o.O I've never heard that but I think I read somewhere that they are attracted to blond/light skinned people more, maybe they are attracted to lighter colors?

  5. I'm O and I get bitten like crazy! Although I don't think it has anything tp do with blood type...

    Mosquitos are a attracted to lighter colors. Its easier to see for them I guess.

    Also, your personal smell and hormones effect how much you get bit. If you eat lots of onions and garlic it repels mosquitos/fleas, because they do not like the taste.


  6. No. Blood type has nothing to do with getting bit. It's all about your body smells., soaps you bathe in, perfumes you use, shampoos, detergents etc. You could be sitting right next to your dad and they could be sworming all over you...or even vise-vera.

    Scientist are still dumb founded how mosquitos can even sworm around someone with no added scent (just NATURAL body scent) and leave the person next to them untouched. You should try changing something with your scent and see if they leave you alone. Maybe you'll be one of those that they just LOVE from you're NATURAL body scent.

    The only reason I know about this, is because I just read up on mosquites about a month ago because...I usually get ate up!!!

  7. i have never heard of this at all,but I am O neg and i get bitten terribly and my father does not (same as you) so as far as circumstantial evidence goes there is 2 for that they like O blood
