No, and they shouldn't. Right now with the way things are going and Bush's low low approval rating, Dems are looking d**n good.

They will end the d**n war and improve the economy.

Republicans will KEEP us at war (ie. George Bush Sr--the Gulf War and a republican prez.) and lower taxes only for the rich. McCain voted against the wage raise....are you aware of that? it's true..you can Google it. And that my friend affects YOU and a lot of folks.

Yes they are.  Given that the Democrats have a small majority in the House and Senate and that we have a Republican lame duck president, nothing's gonna get done since Bush will veto most of the bills the Democrats send up to the White House.  The only way anything gets done quickly at least in the short term is a Democratic Congress and President or a Republican Congress and President.

Apparently not. Not only is it worse than the president's, it is the lowest rating in history. And we are supposed to believe that democrats will accomplish what they preach? We do not simply want change in Washington. We want improvement, and as this congress has shown us, it will not happen with democrats.

That's the Congressional rating as a whole with both  Democrats and Republicans. A lot of Democrats, like myself, would give Congress low ratings because they have failed to hold the current administration accountable for any of the failures, scandals and abuses of the past 8 years. I am also frustrated with the gridlock between the parties and the record number of filibusters that the Republicans have engaged in.

Of course on November 4th when the Dems pick up 6-8 Senate seats, kick LIEberman's azz to the curb, 15-20 House seats and the White House then things will get better.

Almost half of the Dem led congress is Republican.  They have a very slim majority.  That doesn't speak well of the Republicans either.

Yes I know that. But it is hard for them to get anything passed due to the filabusters and veto pen of the President so it is no suprise that the public does not like this congress. Nothing really gets done because the Democrats don't have a large enough majority to get anything past the Republicans.

Congress' approval ratings are so low because the speaker of the house accounts for the polls.

1- Pelosi is a democrat and all republicans hate democrats anyway. 2 -because Pelosi floundered on her promises to the country, took impeachment off the table, and now the majority of democrats can't stand her, including myself.

Yeah...i don't really like most of the Dems in congress but they don't have a huge majority in congress so they can't pass bills that are veto-proof. Bush is a lame duck president and Congress is a lame duck legislature. They both can't do anything.
