  1. Look at the Cobra brand.  That's the little brother to Titleist.  They're both parented by the Acushnet Company.  Titileist is definitely geared to the more "serious" or "avid" player (or at least to those that think they are; or would like to be).  But Cobra follows the same technology at a fraction of the cost and delivers in a big way.  The Cobra irons are solid, well built, forgiving, playable and not as expensive as Titleist.

  2. No they are not for low handicappers, because titleist clubs are the best clubs out there.  But if you think they are hard to hit than try going with king cobra irons. they have a bigger sweet spot than most irons.

  3. Play the Oversize + (plus) or the 981's.  Look for iron sets of these on ebay.

  4. Some of their clubs are more forgiving than others but Titleist does not make any clubs that are real forgiving.  I would say that if your sold on getting Titleist Clubs (and they are great clubs) take a look at the 775 CB.  It is probably the most forgiving iron they make.

What's your handicap?  How far do you hit a seven iron? Do you push the ball right or pull it left?

Maybe consider another brand that is more forgiving? But if Titleist is what you feel good with....go for it.

  5. if you are dedicated and want to work hard, look at some of their cb irons, such as the 690.cb, or the 695.cb. they are forgiving, yet play really well. But, be warned, the forgiveness of the club is nothing close to that of other brands like callaway, with their big berthas and X-20's. If you have your doubts, go get fit for them.

  6. The best clubs all around for high and medium players are the Ping G5.  Most might disagree, but, the Titleist clubs are best left to the Pro's who want to suffer for owning the name.

  7. If you are even asking, titleist is not the company for you. No balls, no irons, or drivers from titleist for you. a BIG waste of a lot of money. try Mizuno if you want professional quality, and performance, with enough forgiveness for any amatuer to play. Any of the cavity backs will suit you well. Try the MX 25 or the MX 900. Great control, feel, and distance for miles. Good luck, and hit em straight.

  8. For entry level clubs, the Ping G10 received Gold on the golf digest hot list. I have hit with them and think they are better than my G5s which are extremely forgiving.

Give the g10s a swing and see what you think.

  9. Most Titleist clubs are for lower handicapped players.  The only one I've known them to make for a higher handicap player is the Titleist 804 OS.
