  1. The only ones I have ever seen have always had manual trans. although, you do see scooters and etc. with a direct drive or centrifugal clutches. A manual transmission just provides more torque and puts more power to the ground. An automatic allows some of this power to be lost on take off. Now you want a big bike with lots of power you can look up "Boss Hoss Cycles". These have everything from Chevy V6's to Chevy V8's, with a direct drive trans. some even have reverse. As you would imagine a little power loss with these, wouldn't be a concern. As for a full out automatic this might be something in the near future, although it's not something I have yet seen. . The honda trails are an example of Centrifugal clutches. Don't know to much about the Hondamatics. I hope this helps.

  2. in the late 70,s honda made a hondamatic in a 500 and a 750 and the old honda trail 90,s and 70,s were automatics

  3. Honda are currnently making the DN-01.

  4. Honda had some and they were alright , Ridley is currently making some.

  5. Ridley Motorcyles http://www.ridleymotorcycle.com/ are currently being made.  Honda had the Hondamatic in the past.

  6. They'er out there, you just have to look.

  7. there is currently only one full sized bike that has an automatic transmission, the Yamaha FJR1300 AE . honda has built a concept cruiser with auto as well , but it may not be built.

  8. the Ridley works like a snowmobile so its automatic.however you can get the E.M.F. autoclutch for just about any bike.it uses ball and ramp technology so that when you let off the throttle it disengages the clutch which means you dont need to use the clutch lever. you still have to shift the gears but dont need to find neutral when you stop. just let go of the gas. sort of motorcycling for dummies. they have a website just key in AUTOCLUTCH and you will find them.
