I have a sensitivity to chemicals. The last time I went to the movie theater, my eyes became watery and red, I developed a headache, breathing became difficult, and eventually said symptoms propagated in my untimely departure from the movie theater. What caused this? I dunno.

Out of curiosity, are movie theaters ever fumugated for insects? This theater is rather new - approximately two years old, so aren't chances unlikely that pesticides might have been used in it?

Are air fresheners or disinfectents routinely sprayed in the movie rooms at the start or end of the day, or between showings? Just a general response from anyone who's worked at a movie theater would work, for this question.

I'm thinking what set off my condition was simply the aggregate combination of so many artificial fragrances - from perfumes and deoderants - pervading the airspace. However, I would like the other inquiries answered. Thanks.

  1. yes they are as an exterminator these are some of our monthly service contracts, they can be sprayed ,chemically fogged for flying insects and have aerosol air fresheners in them very common service in some theatres it can be done weekly

  2. Wouldn't it make more sense to ask the theater management? How should I know what they use?
