  1. NO... a fossil is mineralized material (typically bone.)  Recently we have developed a means of "reverse engineering" fossils that offers some promise of recovering DNA broken down by bacteria that fossilized.

Anthropology needs to start listening to people in the field of genetic science a bit more. They have the proof to many of these bitter arguments & have served up information to prove evolution beyond a reasonable doubt.

  2. No

  3. NOPE

fossils have been mineralized - they are almost stone, You can't get DNA out of a fossil.

A mummy has been dried, it has not been mineralized, it is;t like stone, more likely to be brittle. sometimes you can get DNA out of a mummy.

  4. Something has to be at least 10,000 years old to be a fossil IIRC.

  5. No. Fossils are the mineralized or otherwise preserved remains or traces of animals, plants, and other organisms. In order to be a fossil, you have to be mineralized. Mummies are not fossils because they contain organic matter.
