i am 6"1 and 245 lbs. i bench 305 lbs and squat 545 lbs. i run my fourty in 4.73. and i am a middle linebacker and fullback. i will be a junior in high school this year.

i still have another year to train my a$$ off and get bigger, faster, stronger, meaner, more aggressive, etc. but being in a school of 1200 kids per grade, and assuming we make it to state (we have for the past like 6 or 7 years in a row and this year we are especially good), do you think a D1 scholarship is possible if i put up good stats?

  1. Most likely.  Your stats are very good for your position and age.  If you get your 40 time a little quicker, you'll be a D1 athlete for sure.

  2. Your, Height, Weight, and speed all look good on paper, but the scouts look for what you can do on the field.  If your program has won state 6 or 7 years in a row then it sounds like the scouts will be watching you and your teamates pretty close.

I suggest work hard, play harder and have fun with the game and your team.  If your a scholorship player the scouts "Will" find you.  It is also not a bad idea for you to talk to your head coach.  Highschool coaches are in contact with College level coaches all the time.  Ask if he could put together a highlight reel of you.  Scouts want to see Junior and Senior year stuff.

Good luck!  Remember just go out there and have fun playing.  That is when your at your best.  Don't be thinking about impressing scouts, let that stuff work itself out.
