Question:

Are my SAT scores good enough for me to get into a good school?

I received a 1970 on my SAT. (Critical Reading 650, Math 660, and Writing 660 with an 8 on my essay).

I thought I would do a lot better because I've taken online practice tests and always scored a 12 on my essay and did a little better in other areas but I suppose I was nervous.

I'm a junior with a 3.8, I volunteer a lot, and I'm President of a few clubs. I plan on taking the SAT again senior year but as is, do you think I did well enough to get into any competitive schools?

Thanks in advance.

  1. A 1970 is a solid score, not excellent, but enough for a competitive college. However, if you're looking at Ivy Leagues or Little Ivies you need to shoot for a 2100+.

Definitely take the SAT again, study hard, take a prep course, and your score will improve.

That all sounds good! You're definitely going to get into a good college, and possibly take the ACT. You never know which test suits you best.

  2. goooood job!

    aim for 2100!

  3. SAT's must have changed...  the highest use to be 1600 (math and reading) lol

I'm not sure how to gauge those scores.

  4. next time try to get around the 2000's or higher and you could get into an Ivy League School!

Try to get more extracurriculars and i think you will do great

aim to get a perfect score in one area and that will basically guarantee you a spot in an Ivy League

    good luck!

    =D
