  1. You should give them a couple of breeding boxes to choose from. Also, they wont breed right away, give them time. All of a sudden, they will breed like crazy. When a bird is fluffed up it usually means they are sick, cold, tired. Dont worry too much, budgies are pretty hardy.

The females will take time in choosing and preparing the box aswel. Make sure it is an ordinary wooden box aswel, with no nesting material. They just need a small depression in the bottom of the box for the eggs to be layed and not roll around.

Dont worry if they chew the box, they like to chew on the box.

    Hope this has helped.

  2. maybe there are ghosts in there

  3. Hi,

Mine done the same thing and wouldn't even go near the nest box so what i did because i wanted to breed them was to buy a breeding cage and about two weeks later they laid eggs and now have some chicks, for some reason not all birds will colony breed.

Another thing which it may be is that budgies only breed in groups and it is recommended that you have at least three pairs as normally a single or two pairs will not breed. They need the noise to spur them on.
