Are my cockatiel eggs fertile?

Question

I have a male and female.She laid 3 eggs.She is a pearl cockatiel and he is a heavy pied cockatiel.are 1 or 2 eggs fertile?

I would really appreciate it!

Color of the birds means nothing,they will still have fertile eggs.

How old are your birds?they need to be over 12 months to be sure of fertility.

Has she finished laying they can lay up to 8 eggs before brooding.?

The eggs will take from 21-24 days to hatch from the last egg being laid,to check if they are fertile,wait till she leaves the nest to feed then take the eggs 1 at a time ,hold them up to the light and if they seem dull and cloudy then there is a good chance of them containing young,

So leave them alone after this.and wait??

Make sure that your birds have plenty of Cuttle-bone and a Mineral block as the egg laying process depletes the hens stock of these vital minerals.

You can try candeling them, by holding a flashlight up to the egg, to see if there are any signs of development.

If you choose to hand-raise the babies, please do not take it lightly, as it is very tiring and expensive. If you choose to let the parents raise the baby, and you would still like the baby to be tame, then, if the parents let you and when the baby is a bit older, play with the baby when the parents are not feeding it, hold him in your hand, keep him warm, talk to him, get the baby used to you,  then return him to the nest box.

This method has worked for many people, and alot of breeders now prefer this then to pulling the baby from the nest and handfeeding.

The parents also need plenty of calcium and protein, not only for the eggs, but for the feeding of the baby (that is, if the eggs are fertile)

Give them some cuttle-bone, scrambled eggs, a mineral block and you can buy some special breeders-pellets for the parents.
