Are my cockatiels plucking their babies feathers?

the baby bird is 4 weeks and 4 days old and it is out of the nest, but is still only has feathers on the wings and tail... here is a picture http://www.useimage.net/images/Smb41095.jpg

  1. the mother is over preening it....take it out and put it in its own cage.... you dont want them to pluck too much..... its natural for birds to preen their babies......but they often over preen......

    Yeah it looks like they are plucking the feathers, mine do this but with my pair they only do it whilst the chicks are in the nest box but once they leave the nest then the parents normally stop. If not then let the parents raise the chicks etc and when the chicks are eating on their own normally about four weeks after they leave the nest. Once they are eating just put them i a different cage then the feathers will grow back, this doesn't harm the chicks.

  3. poor thing something might be wrong with your bird. take her to the vet a see if she has a skin rash.
