Are my dry eyes caused by something more then staring?

I've been staring at the computer, almost literally all day.

Now I've developed dry eyes.

I never develop dry eyes when staring at the computer in other cases.

Also I may be getting a sore throat. Are the dry eyes just a symptom of a fever? Or maybe a mixture?

Using a computer can result in dry eyes and that's due to staring at one screen all the time and also from not blinking often enough.
