Question:

Are my ducks going to lay eggs?

I have a male and a female duck. When they are both in the water, sometimes the male duck gets on the female's back and bites her neck. Are the ducks reproducing or mating or what? Will the female lay eggs? They are both Pekin(g) ducks.

  1. hi

firstly you asked a question similar to this earlier . .

But anyway when the drake is on the duck in the water they are mating.  . hence fertalizing and getting practice for when she lays eggs which will happen at around 6-8 months.. . .

she will lay eggs when her body is ready and only then like i said around 6-8 months =)

They aren't repoducing . .  to reproduce a duck needs to lay egg that have been fertalized (during mating) and then incubate them for the 28 days . .

hope this clears things up =)
