Are my eyes deceiving me, or is their vision test wrong?

ok, so I had to get my vision checked with those machine things you look into. The person told me to read a row of numbers, so I did. Then she's like, "you didn't read all three columns in that row. Read them!"

Well, I would have read all three columns of numbers..if there had been three columns of numbers. Only two columns had numbers in them, the first column was blank. I could see all the numbers perfectly. The lady wouldn't believe me when I said there weren't three columns of numbers, so she sent me to another machine.

I watched the lady before me fail her vision test on that machine, and then it was my turn. I could see everything fine, except it wasn't numbers, only funny shaped circles. Tehre was a distorted reflection at the bottom, and I realized maybe I was supposed to read that...only it was so distorted you couldn't possibly read it. And thus, I failed the vision test even though I can see fine.

Am I crazy? Or are the machines messed up?

  1. You may want to consult this with an optomitrist and maybe get a true vision test.

  2. If this was at the DMV, then I don't doubt the low quality of both the machine and the clerk.

  3. You can't be sure, but I think your vision's messed up. Before I got my eyes tested at school, I thought I could see fine, but I can see now that I needed glasses. To be sure, I'd get your eyes tested at another place.

  4. these machines are supposed to have a mode for illiterate people, that has those circles, stars and stuff like that. chances are, some moron switched to this mode and had no idea how to switch it back.

  5. Go and have another test somewhere else

  6. maybe, maybe not
