on myspace, i have friends i know personally and sometimes on their messages, which THEY wrote, and i'm SURE of it. Trust me. , there's links on words. why is that? i think it's spyware or something.

OK like recently I asked my friend for a link to a website to get info. but the link wasn't of the website, it was of something else. and i tried clicking on one, but myspace said that it was phishing.

but it wasn't the website i asked for.

www.name of web.com

but on properties, it had a bunch of random stuff where it should of said ^^^

and i tested it and made a link to that SAME site and it WORKED, myspace even let me pass or get through to it..

so, are these people trying to give me a virus or spyware?

**please don't say they're spammers because they're not. i KNOW them. just Trust me on this one ok. ? = )

  1. install a anti-virus software

  2. I recall there being a worm or something making the rounds on myspace a while back.. that would result in comments being posted to your profile, apparantly by your friends, that contained bogus videos that were actually links to external malicious websites. Happened to me, actually. Similar to an email worm.. any infected account would have its contact/friend list scanned, and the video would then be replicated onto each friend's comment list. I don't recall how an account would become infected to begin with.

Not sure if the same kind of thing could be possible with messaging on myspace, but your question did bring that to memory..
