Are my grades in college a major factor in applying for F1 visa?

i have my I-20 and everything .. financiall gruantee.etc.. but are grades important ?have some people been rejected based on them ?

They can contribute to a denial, if they're particularly low. If you haven't been able to handle classes in your own country, is it unreasonable to think you'll have problems in a foreign university?
