Are my soft pastels giving me allergies?

I draw with soft pastels in my room, and they are pretty messy. I was very sick for a good week and think it was form the pollen from outside, could it be from the pastel dust?

It could be. Were you using the soft pastels quite a while before you got sick or did your sickness and the use of pastels coincide?
