When I put a lot of pressure on my wrists they become incredibly painful and stiff. this occurs mainly when I do push ups. When my wrists are bent like that, i have to wait a good minute before I can bend them back to straight without sharp pains in both wrists. They have been like this for a while now, and it's becoming too painful for me to do push ups. I don't know if I should see a doctor or not.. please help! Thanks in advance =)

  1. yes u must see a doctor.

  2. Stop doing push ups for a while. It sounds like you may have a repetitive stress injury in your wrists. Ever hear of shin splints? same kind of thing, the bones of your wrists may have developed tiny fractures due to repeated stress. Instead it might affect the tendons and ligaments.

Basically, yes, you should see a doctor  to be sure, and in the meantime give yourself a break. if you do something and it hurts, don't do that for a while. And start with stopping the push ups. If it is a simple repetitive stress injury, you probably need a couple of weeks of rest for your wrists.

Carpal Tunnel is possible, but that tends to affect people to bend the wrist the other way. Either way, see a doctor.

  3. osteomalacia ,

  4. you might have carpel tunnel syndrome.. its good to get it checked out they can maybe give u a brace and suggestions on how to lessen the pain!
