Are neoliberalism and imperialism compatible or incompatible?

This article (http://www.countercurrents.org/hensman191107.htm) said that they were incompatible, but I'm not sure I buy their argument. It seems to me that they could be compatible in certain circumstances. I'm posing this question to the yahoo answers community in hopes of some other ideas.

I believe that they are incompatible.

To me, imperialism is not an acceptable means for embracing a liberal worldview.

Instead, imperialism is the epitome of subscribing to the imposition of hierarchical will, rather than the acceptance of free will.
