Question:

Are new house needs a new well?

we just closed last week and the well guy said we are running out of water because are well is to low.He said the only way to fix the problem is to dig a new well.Do I have a leg to stand on if i try to get the old owners to pay for the new well.

(wich is going to cost thousands)....i live in new york if that helps i'm not sure of the laws here

  1. I think this is in the wrong category since you need lawyer.

    The well should have been checkout prior to the closing, so either it didn't get checked or someone was lying.


  2. Did you have everything inspected. you may want to ask a lawyer and soon before its to late.

  3. In general, New York Real Estate is 'as is' subject to your inspection before closing, but the owner is

    obligated to disclose hidden fauts of which he is aware.

    Unless there's some proof that they knew of the fault, and didn't disclose it, you're stuck.

    If you had an inspection, the inspector might be liable for not finding

    this problem.
