Absolutely!  Just like Brazil in soccer, New Zealand in rugby are constantly rated as the best, or very close and just like Brazil, we dont win every world cup.

Just because you are the best at something, does not for one second mean that you will always win.

I dont know if the Brazilian soccer team are like NZ in that NZ would rather play fast, attractive rugby and lose, than play slow grinding rugby and win.  I cant really stand soccer, but I watch Brazil whenever they are on.

Wayne A, you are as misinformed as your brother nonenzedder.  NZ have played in two finals, '87 and '95.  Australia have only played in 3, not 4.  So basically, if/when we win this RWC and knock Australia out on the way, we'll have played and won 2 out of 3 RWC finals, just like you.  and if you really think Australia were more impressive against Japan than NZ were against Italy... then you must truly be an Australian... and thats not a compliment.

P.S. at least our loss in the final wasn't to ENGLAND... AT HOME!!!! Completely unforgivable.

The All Blacks(like the Brazilians) always bring a sense of excitement and anticipation to any competition. They do play fast, attractive rugby. Perhaps it also has something to do with the Hakka they perform before each game, throwing up the challenge to their opponents.

They are the favourites to win it, even though they have only won the World Cup once in twenty years, whereas the Wallabies have won it twice and have appeared in four finals, compared to the All Blacks single appearance in the final in 1987.

Only to the extent that they lack commitment and true desire to win ! They are tallented, but over rated and have played in only 1 World Cup Final, where as Australia have played in 4 ! They lack mental toughness and the will to win the World Cup .
