Definitely not.. or at least in this girl's case i know..

Shes into s*x drugs and alcohol and she is 15 and her dad is a cop, and her mom is a teacher.. They are totally oblivious to it.

Although she is adopted, so i don't know if that makes a difference...

I hope so. Children need a stable parent. One who sets rules and boundaries and inflicts consequences when they are broken. You're children will probably be more likely to succeed, you being an officer and all.

Possibly, but i am not exactly sure, but i would guess that most children of law enforcement will grow up to be more respectful and better behaved.

Most of the ones I  know TRY to be really strict with their kids, but this frequently backfires because they are TOO strict and the kid rebels and gets into all sorts of trouble...

I have also seen a few who think that because they are a cop that they would recognize if their kids were doing wrong and are completely oblivious to the fact that their kids ARE doing something wrong.. and they cant believe it when/if they do find out about it because their kid would NEVER disrespect them like that..

Some are they see so much of the bad part of society that they cant help but do what they know is right for their children.

My dad is a LEO and he was very strict.  He was also more protective than most parents because of things he had seen.  My friends said my house reminded them of a military boot camp.  I turned out just fine and am in LE.

I know of one that beat his wife and their children were afraid of him. But that's it. Most police officers are normal family oriented folk.
