  1. Some states have a "compassionate release" program where inmates who are no longer a threat to society are released after a certain age.   This is often used as a cost-saving measure.

  2. They stay in until they serve their sentence or they die.

  3. They stay until they die, but some get parole or extra privileges , but depends on there crime.

  4. They stay in until their sentence is over.  Or they die there. We do not have the death sentence in my state.  I was in prison and saw inmates die there.  If they get really sick and have served like 25-30 years, they may get their sentence commuted by the govenor, I saw that happen too.  Usually though, they stay there.

  5. Just like a marriage till death do us part.

Inmates are classified by crimes and by age grouping.

We have a 40+age grouping area for 60 inmates and now growing to 120 inmates.

Life without is just that life without the possibility of parole?

  6. They stay until they serve out their sentence or get out early on good behavior.  So in the case of a life or death sentence they would live out the rest of their days in captivity.

  7. i was in prison with a man who was 91 years old , so to ansewer your Q they stay in there untill their sentence is over ,but some times they can get a furlow if they are in bad health ,but they would have to be deemed deathly sick to get one

  8. You stay in until you die.
