Are old snowboards still ok?

Question

This thing is a Mercury snowboard, from like 1997. Do these things last, or whats the deal.

I agree with DK- it depends on how much it was used.  However, as long as it still has that "pop" in it still, youre good to go. Just keep an eye out for it to get worn out since it is older.

It depends on how much it was used, and if it was a good board to begin with. Snowboard technology has come a long way since 1997. A board that is a year or two old isn't a big deal provided it hasn't been beat to death by someone else and isn't delaminating. But a 10 year old board is likely to be not as technically good as a new one. Also the binding set up might be completely different from today's boards and you might not be able to find bindings that will work with it.
