  1. If you have a Nikon digital SLR it will fit, no problem.

  2. my older lenses won't fit my automatic body.  i have a minolta.

my parents packed up my house when i broke my neck.  they packed the lenses but not the camera bodies.  my new camera was in the car with me.

  3. No I have a 35 Millimeter Nikon and a D100 and a D200 and the old lenses from my 35 Millimeter Nikon do not fit on the digital cameras. I had to get new lenses

  4. Finn is right.

I have some older (circa 1970's) lenses I use from time to time on my D300 and D3 DSLR's

  5. Nikon F body lenses will mount, but the level of compatibility depends on the model of lens and the model of digital SLR.

You'll have autofocus (with AF lenses) on all Nikon DSLR's, except for the D40, D40x, and D60.  These models require AF-S or AF-I lenses.

If the lenses have the electical contracts, you can meter on the DSLR's, but if you have a D200, D300, D2, or D3, you can manually meter after setting the lens information on the camera.

Here's a very detail webpage about compatibility with some great informative charts.
