Question:

Are online discount electronics sites safe or fraudulous?

I am thinking of purchasing a couple of items from one of the online discount electronics sites like these:

http://pefrad.com

http://www.magelectronicsbest.com/

Has anyone had success with such stores? Are they fraudulous? I was thinking the prices are so reasonable because they sell items that are no longer manufactured because the new versions have come out in the store. If anyone could shed any light on this, please do so. Thanks!

  1. What are you purchasing.....they have always been great to me.

2 sites i use the most...

www.newegg.com - award winning customer service and the best prices around, FAST cheap chipping

    www.clubit.com -awesome site too

  2. CAUTION!!!!

I was considering making a purchase from magelectronicsbest and was trying to verify their status also.  Unfortunately I found information that indicates they are not a legitimate company.  A search turned up "Artists Against 419" at "aa419.org".  Quote: "Googled for some classic scammer signatures today, and came up with the current live ones:

    http://www.magelectronicsbest.com/

    http://www.liveelectronicsworld.com/

    http://www.electronicsonlineworld.com/

    http://www.bestglobalelectronics.com/

    http://topsbusiness.com/

All are phishing for CC info on an inscecure checkout page, and some also sport fake "trust" certificates from GeoTrust (guaranteed fake because the vertificates are sourced from the fake site, not from certificate issuer). "

It is a deal too good to be true!

  3. www.magelectronicsbest.com is a questionable site.    I have ordered from them before though a credit card and they did not process my order on time.  I checked the web site and my order is still being process.  I made the original order since Sep 20th.

To make it worse,  I check it though google  and their checkout is not secure.  they claim that they have ssl security through their servers, but it's not true.  I checked with my browser  Firefox.2  and when I was going through checkout it sended  a message saying that I was about to send information that was Not encrypted.  This is through their chechout process.  All good legitimate  sites have encryption on their checkout.  This one doesn't.   This is the link from google.   This site is prone to hijack. http://forum.aa419.org/viewtopic.php?t=1...
