I go to school at UMOHS (University of Miami Online High School.) It is rigorous. I am very self motivated and am in eighth grade now and am getting a 2100 in English on my PSAT. I am going to be part of the National Honor Society and am part of the Debate Club, the Current Events Club, the Cultural Connections Club, the Literary magazine, the newspaper travel editor, and will be part of Mu Alpha Theta....

I go to a tennis academy and play 7 hours of tennis everyday. This is why I am doing online school. I am very gifted when it comes to academics...

What online/distance learning school do you think I should do that would allow me to have a better chance getting into an Ivy League College?

Btw, when I was in sixth grade (before we moved), I had the highest GPA in my whole grade and this was the hardest private school in VA. Right now my GPA is 5.0

  1. EPGY online highschool is very rigorous and well respected.  It would give you a better chance at getting in to an Ivy League school.  It may take more time than your current program however, so 7 hours of tennis a day may be tough to keep up with.    They offer courses that are university level and can prove your ability to work at that level.

  2. You're going to have a transcript and grades from an accredited high school.

That's all they really look at. If it's a university's online high school, and you have high grades, you're fine.

  3. Sounds like your doing OK as is.  Many Ivy League schools allocated room for homeschoolers with more liberal terms than others.  But they look at a lot of factors inculding where you live (farmers also get extra allocation), family income and status (the disenfrancised also get allocated slots).

It would not be unusual for a major school to turn away white male suburban high income students with 5.0 and perfect SAT in favor of a inner rural Alaskan Girl who was homeschooled with less than perfect scores.

But they do evaluate your potentail.  They will quiz you, expect an essay on intent and you have to take their placement tests (non-refundable) and make an application fee (non-refundable).
