  1. I'd have to say no, it's garbage food for humans and can't possibly be good for a horse.

  2. If oreos aren't that good for people, what makes you think they'd be a good idea to feed to your horse?

Now, I'm sure a few here and there wouldn't kill him, but no 'human' food is really ever a good idea to feed to your animal.

I would stick to things like carrots, apples and premade horse treats for your horse. More oreos for you... :)

  3. Just because she will eat anything doesnt mean it wont get her sick. I wouldnt risk it. If a horse gets something they havent tried before, it could be a bad case of collic. Also there is a first for everything so if you do, do like a quarter of the cookie. Yes I know its small but I wouldnt wanna kill my horse.

  4. Think of oreo's like eating a full bar of chocolate for yourself.  Just one is MORE than enough as a special treat for the horse.  I've known a horse who would steal your fries if you had them in the barn.  Don't use them as an everyday treat, and you'll be fine.

  5. Oreos and other chocolatey things can make your horse sick. Check with your vet before feeding it anything you don't usually feed.

My advice: Try some healthy beets, carrots, and turnips. An apple or sugar lump wouldn't hurt either.

  6. No probably not. Plus if you give a horse a SPECIAL type of treat he'll think he's gonna get attention every day. Don't let that happen cause then when he has to work he won't want to. I knew a person who gave her horse 5 carrots a day with him not doing any work. A horse should only be given a treat when he's done a good job. or if you REALLy want to.

  7. i dont see why not, i have given my horses a few sweets (doughnut holes, jelly rolls)

but VERY rarely, no problems yet ..been doing it for 15 + years

  8. umm please DONT give her oreos! OREOS HAVE GELITAIN IN THEM GELITAIN CONTAINS GROUND HORSE HOOVES! Seriosly I'm not kidding! Read the indgreideints for gelitain online! lol i'm pretty sure thats canobalism

Ok just found out that it's not horse hooves but still does contain meat and horses are herbavores.

  9. I would certainly not give Oreos to my horses. Maybe a couple won't hurt her but a pound can so please don't give your horse Oreos. Maybe treat her to something like Fig Newton cookies or bars instead of the Oreos. Or better yet, treat her to something home baked and healthy, maybe something like cornmeal cookies sweetened with just a little sugar. My wife makes those for horse treats and I like them too. But the treat my wife makes which is the biggest hit with our horses, and I really like them also, are banana oat cookies with chopped dates. The banana and dates sweeten them and they have no sugar at all and the only ingredients are mashed bananas, oats, chopped dates, and vegetable oil. But anyway, I really think you can think of a lot of treats that are much better for your horse than Oreos.

  10. dont quote me on this, but I think it would be okay if you gave her one, mabey 2. as long as you dont over due it, she should be fine

  11. well sugarisnt good for horses and niether is choclate

  12. They eat their own dung so im guessing not. as long as you dont shove umm down ur horses throat everday he/she will live! (and wont get sick!)

  13. probably not the icing on a cake for a horse food. Chocolate wouldn't be any harm and neither probly the cream, 1 wouldn't hurt but their are more productive things to feed your horse like apples, oranges, bread, carrots, sugar cubes ect.

Unfortunately for my horse he has never been loved and im training him at the moment, but the poor darl won't eat carrot, apples, sugar or anything. He has recently discovered bread though so that what he gets as a treat.

Anyways to be on the safe side i would stick with vegetable.

Also i remembered if you want to spice up her treats you could give her Arnotts Noice Biscuits. They aren't bad for horses and my mums friend gives her show horses them as special rewards :)

  14. a few dont hurt  i use to give my horse a snicker bar she loved it

  15. No...

But mine like an occasional fig newton.

  16. I doubt one or two would hurt her, but I wouldn't give her that many. Oreos have coco and coco can kill some animals if given enough of it. But I think it would take a lot of oreos to make a horse sick; they are so big! Horse treats would be better though.

  17. They should be fine in moderation, but treats especially for horses, apples, or carrots would be better.

  18. I bet they are TOTTALY not okay for them! one BIG tip for ya! NEVER FEED ANIMALS HUMAN FOOD OR JUNK FOOD!

  19. Chocolate isn't a good idea.

  20. Most packaged "human" food isn't even really good for humans.

Probably be safer if you ate the horse feed.

  21. Errr I don't think you should give your horse an Oreo. It probably wouldn't make her sick, but just because she WILL eat anything doesn't mean she SHOULD

  22. Yea, iwould consult a veternarian and look it up online for the usual Horse diet.  Im pretty sure oreos won't be healthy for you health, it mite have trouble digesting the creme.

  23. as long as he dips it in milk.

  24. If she will eat it, I would think one or two wouldn't hurt her.... just not a whole bunch of them.  Mine's favorites are those Little Debbie Nutty Buddy bars!!

edit------  Eating one oreo has never killed a human!!   ONE oreo cookie won't kill or make sick a DIABETIC person.  horses  have much bigger digestion systems than us, the creme is just sugar, which won't hurt them, and the cookie is just flour and a minute amount of chocolate (which is full of antioxidants). ONE COOKIE IS NOT GONNA KILL YOUR HORSE OR MAKE IT SICK!!!  You are not a bad horse owner nor should you be treated like one for wanting to give your horse a special treat.
