Yesterday when I was working an Obama table one person came up to me and said "Seriously--you would vote for a black man?" I was amazed because this area is pretty liberal. I also had someone tell me that if he were elected then all the black people would get uppity and expect more from society.

  1. NO !! ... People need to forget about race !!

Obama's ideas and policies are scary !!  He wants to give our sovereignty away to the United Nations through his Global Poverty Act (S.2433).

Alaska Govermor Sarah Palin has MORE TOTAL political experience than Obama!!

    KS1982

  2. That's really shocking.  Can I ask what state you live in?

  3. Democrats are the racist party do some history research!

    slavery was started by democrats..

  4. so ur black congrats

  5. It's disgusting, but not surprising. I've had white friends tell me that strangers would start conversations with them about not trusting Obama because he's black.

  6. I hate to say, but it is going to come down to Race.  Many Americans just cannot vote for a black man.  Racism can easily hide.  We will probably see it get worse if he gets closer to winning.

  7. I think there is some substance to the second comment about blacks getting uppity and expecting more from society due to there being a black President. They would feel entitled to things and I believe that many feel that Obama would end discrimination which won't happen. I think there are others who believe that Obama will lead a black uprising in the country like my brother's idiot friend. But there has been more woman bashing of Palin than hate filled rants.

  8. Some people are just like that; it's best to not let them bother you. We live in a country where some people, sad enough as it is, will vote depending on ones race or s*x.

  9. Some whites use claims of "reverse racism" to hide they're own racism.  Blacks dont hate whites and dont want more power than whites.  All all minorities want are equal rights.  Some people think that a white person who grows up in suburbia with two loving parents is on the same level as some one who is from the inner city and has maybe one parent who has to work all the time.  They are not.  Obama doesn't want to give hand outs he just wants to level the playing field.  Education is not a hand out it is the only way people can be equal. This is why republicans are against education they know stupid people are easier to control.

  10. Race and Politics in this country are toxic when mixed. It says in the Constitution that all men are created equal. Why would a man with dark skin be any worse than a man with light skin? Obama didn't grow up in a black neighborhood. He doesn't even have the "black state of mind". Vote for the man that you think can do the best job. The older generations still see the world with racial glasses. Time will change that.

  11. i would have told him to go s***w himself. this is why the country is going to shitzz

  12. Please tell me you hit him in the face.

  13. For some reason i think your story is just that. A story.

  14. its things like that that makes america...america

and i swear some people are going to vote for mccain just because they wont vote for a black person. and ppl are going to vote for obama because he is black. dont even know anything about what each canidate is for just going to base it on race...sad isnt it.

  15. Well, one poster is right about one thing, the Democrats were responsible for a lot of racism in the past.  I am sure Repubs were just as racist back in the day, but they had Abraham Lincoln as a spokesperson.

I think it's pitiful that some people can't see past race, s*x, or anything that deviates from the status quo in the 21st century.  I hope you told off the guy who approached you and embarrassed the h**l out of him.

  16. racism and sexism are alive and well in your town, apparently. When people say things like what you heard, i tend to look down on them with sadness and pity. And just wait--it won't be long before someone charges all those not in support of palin are sexists. And some may even say "if we elect palin then all women will get uppity and expect more from society". When all else fails, get down and personal. Sad.

  17. Nope.
