  1. the men that are in the infantry are not "sitting ducks"...they are out on patrols, raids and other missions...they train hard to make sure they all make it home from each deployment...they work long hours, are gone from their families alot of the time, and get very little respect for their jobs...they are some of the hardest working people i've ever had the chance to know-i've been around the army my entire life-you need to figure out if being infantry is the choice for you because not everyone is cut out for the infantry life...talk to a recruiter about the other options the army has

  2. If your afraid of being in combat then the military isn't for you then.

Don't get me wrong is scary alright but if the mere thought of being into combat burdens you that much then pick another thing to do because the military is really not for everyone.

  3. In my opinion, I don't think that they are "sitting ducks". Sure they are out doing patrols and whatnot, but they don't believe that they are just waiting around to get shot at. Also there are many jobs in the Army other than going infantry. I would suggest going here www.goarmy.com and look under careers to find out about the different jobs the Army offer. Of course it depends on what you get on your ASVAB test as to what jobs you are eligible for.

  4. Not sitting ducks, but since you have to even ask this.  It is best if you stay home.  We need drinking, smoking and fighting folks.
