When recently visiting mu opticians, I told him I felt one of my eyes were larger than the other, and he said that everybody has 2 eyes which are different sizes, and that some of us can notice it while others can't. I find this hard t believe.

  1. Yes, the 2 sides of you face, even your entire body are different.   When an embryo begins to grow, it is like a flat plate of cells.  As it grows and develops, the 2 outer edges fold forward and eventually join. .. Like  a piece of paper that you hold and fold the edges in toward each other.  Since these "edges" developed independently at first, they are not identical.  Because of this, facial features can be slightly different on each side of the face.  This is also the reason for what are called "mid-line defects."  These are things like cleft lip and palette, heart defects, and defects of the internal organs that are in the mid-line of the body.  When the two edges join, sometimes they do not do so perfectly.

  2. Basicly.

  3. Lol. I didn't know that.

I always thought it was the shape of your eyelids.

I can't tell which one is bigger. How do you notice that anyway? Can you see more out of it or what?

  4. mine are different when im confused...

  5. Yeah he is right.

you cant see it just by looking in the mirror, because there only about .0000000624 something something millimeters in diameter

  6. that seems true to me,

  7. this is true for the most part,  no one is perfectly symmetrical.  just looking at people you can see asymmetry.

the eyes vision is measured by axial length and keratometry.

Axial length is the length from the front of the eye to the back of the eye and the K's are the measurement of the cornea horizontally and vertically.  these are the things that determine you vision.

  8. weird, Never thought about it before but just felt mine and sure enough my left one feels slightly bigger!!! I looked it up and apparently it is totally normal and something to do with your left eye being a near sight eye so has to be bigger! check out the source below.
