  1. Unless they aren't aproved by the usga.  Pat perez used two oversized irons last weekend (4-5 cgb max) and also had a 5 iron (rac tp)

  3. All of the clubs sold as "oversized" by the major manufacturers are certainly legal.

    The oversized term is probably overused these days. Originally, they referred to clubs that were larger than the forged blades used by the better players. But today, most everyone uses clubs that are "oversized" by the standards of twenty years ago.

    The USGA maintains a list of conforming drivers and balls, but I've not seen one for irons:

  4. To use in tournaments, clubs have to be approved by the USGA and on their list of clubs.  That means they meet all of the size and weight limits.  

    You can use illegal clubs and golf balls if you want to do it.
