  1. Pain medication is very easy to get addicted to. If your doctor has prescribed them, I would only take them *as needed*.

  2. Yes, they are. I'm not going to lie to you. They really are.

  3. As a former pain killer addict my vote is to quit them...why did you start taking them?  If it is for a chronic disorder then research alternative therapies.  The more you take the less effective they are so you begin to take more and more.  Then when you go off them, the wind blowing too hard hurts your skin and the vicious cycle continues.  Above all else you can severely damage your liver by continuing a long term pill regimen.

  4. As long as you take them as directed. and don't over dose. or pop them

  5. Sounds like you already know the answer to your question.

They aren't prescribed to "Make you Happy", or "Give you Energy".  If you quit, but keep going back, sounds to me like addiction.

I was addicted to pain pills many years ago and became so because of my doctor and the amount, frequency, and all the years they were prescribed to me.  I should have done my homework ahead of time and would have prevented a lot of the grief that followed when I decided to take myself off of them.

Prescription Narcotic Pain medications are highly addictive, and are a very common cause of death, crime, and sickness, etc. in society today.  Only recently are doctors paying more attention to the problems they cause.

You need to walk away from them NOW before they become a problem you are unable to manage without rehab, or agonizing withdrawal.

    Good luck!  It's NOT easy!!
