Are parabolic halogen heaters more energy efficient?

  1. I would go with the adjustable wattage electric radiator style heater my self. wait, i did (four DeLonghi Oil Filled Radiator Heaters). my electric bill went up almost 60 dollars a month. but my oil bill (no substitute in my town) went down just over 200 dollars a month. so that would be a savings of 140 dollars a month. do the math, what is the trade off worth. Now i didn't get the fancy on with all the k***s and buttons and timers on it, i went for the standard model. and i don't run all four of them 24 hours either. i have two in front of the big windows in the living room. and one in each kids bedroom. I only have them on when there is someone in the room. ok then, theres my two cents worth.


  2. Small electric heater are not very efficient for heating a house.  Gas is much better or  oil or air radiator that works at a lower wattage would be better.  Get away from electricity if you can.
