  1. Yes, in some cases. It has to be handled on a case by case basis I think. I think there should be laws that protect children from diets that cause health crises (diabetes, heart problems,  obesity, etc.) I also think there should be warning labels on boxes of cereal that have more than 15 grams of sugar per serving. It is not difficult for a kid to eat more than one bowl, and with that you have 30 or 45 grams of sugar in one sitting. Outside of America that would be considered poisonous.

When you hear about people in general who are more than 200 pounds overweight, you don't hear about people being enablers of the person's condition. On television shows about this subject you will see an obese young man's parents giving him plate after plate of food, all of which is high in fat and cholesterol. I think that is the same as buying an alcoholic a bottle of booze.

  2. they should be!

  3. I think it is if the parents neglect to teach their children the effects of overeating

  4. I think it is their moral responsibility to ensure a well balanced diet for their children.

I don't think it constitutes abuse though.

  5. No.

  6. yes - they're neglecting their health

  7. No way Pedro. What a bunch of lunatics, has the bma forgotten what child abuse actually is. Its not child abuse as we understand it, its a lack of information in dietary needs.

  8. two of my granchildren eat for england, they have hollow legs, never seen children eat like it, but they are both skinny, so whys that? could it be cos they are on the go 24/7, always out on their bikes, playing in the park, always busy busy busy, doing what children are supposed to do, they are fortunate to live next door to a great big park, now two of my other granchildren, who live in a different part of town, are never able to get out and play, cos the old folk dont like the noise, or bikes or balls, they are chubby children, sad as it is, they cant clear off to the park, cos its too far away to be safe for them. I truly believe that obese children are stuck indoors cos of society, this is not a child friendly country folks!!!!!!!!!!!
