Are parts of Mont St. Michel closed to visit?

seems like they're doing major renovating. just wondering if it would be a disadvantage to go now? any thoughts?

This is a major project to modernise parts of the island - parking, tourist facilities etc, as well as conservation work on the monastery itself.  It's been going on for years, and you should not have any problems accessing the major parts of the monastery and island.
