No, no,No...there is soooooo much misinformation given on this subject!  Paaports are NOT required for LAND or SEA travel to Mexico yet...but will be  after summer 2009.  For now, you need a photo I.d.and proof of citizenship, which can be EITHER a passport OR birth certificate.  See site below and read carefully.  Now, some cruise lines WANT their passengers to have passports, so it is wise to call and ask their poicy.

  3. Most likely because they are more strict than ever, and Cabo would be in Mexico, and you would need a passport to go there now (I'm assuming that you are a US citizen).

  4. I went on a cruise in January. Cabo's was in of the ports. I had a passport in case I needed it but if you cruising on a boat, all they want to see is the boats ID card (they give you at the beginning of the cruise) and a drivers license or birth cert.
