Are people able to tell what someone's gender is based on their hands?

I'd say top is definitely a girl,

But i'm not sure about the bottom, probably a guy.

I think the biggest give away are usually the nails, then any jewellery (that probably doesn't count), or the actual structure of the hand - how thin/rough/muscly/smooth it looks.

my guess if female for the first one, then male for the second...

of course, I could be wrong? I don't think that anybody an guess at this with 100% accuracy all the time :)

1st ones a girl seconds a boy. You cant tell among children and teenagers very well but its easy to differentiate an adult male/females hands.

Top is a girl.

Bottom looks like a guy at first, but I want to say that it's a girl as well, but a slightly chubby one.

To one of the other commentators: I'm a girl and my ring finger is longer. That's all genetics, not gender, that determines it.

I couldn't really see in the picture.  Most men have a ring finger that is longer than the index finger.  In females the index finger is usually longer.

I would guess at the first being a girl.  Maybe even a young girl based on what bone structure I could make out.

The second is probably a male given its robustness.  However, I would have to say that they aren't very good pictures.  If we had better pictures, it would be easier to tell.
