Are people in spain considered white?

well im half spanish and half english, but since spain isnt in the caucasian thingy lol, are spanish considered white? i mean my mom is from spain and she looks white to me lol

Like many countries Spain has a history of other races coming in.  Since the country was held and ruled by arabs for years there are therefore white, arab and mixed blood!!

I'm going to have to say that Reaper is right. Spain is in Europe. So that makes them white no matter what language they speak.

As simB said.  Spanish is an ethnicity.  Just like Anglo or Irish.  The race depends on your skin  color and opinion/perceptions.  Some people, especially in Southern Spain have a darker skin color due to the nearness  to Africa and its history with the Moors.

I guess it depends on how the person is perceived by others. Desi Arnaz (Ricky Ricardo from I Love Lucy) supposedly had to prove that he was from the "whitest" Castillian (meaning northern Spain) bloodline to prove that he was "anglo" in a sense. He still had serious issues with the networks in getting his show on the air until it got picked up by CBS. Long story short, Spaniards are usually judged by how "white" their appearance is, not necessarily a "racial" group.

yes,but they don't belong to the anglo-saxon group.there is a lot affinity between the Spaniards,Italians,Greeks and the French,but neither of these groups belong to the Anglo-saxon group.

They are White,Italians and Greeks are white-they have the same dna haplogroups that are found all over Europe. the dark phentoypes of hair and eyes do NOT denote race. In fact, Iberians and Basques are CLOSELY related to the British and esp.to the Irish. Even in England there is in general far more affinity to ancient people from this area than any 'saxon' or the like.
