  1. you sit still and let your other half exercise

  2. What is the specific medication?

I haven't heard anything like that for any antipsychotic med, but I only know the ones used for bipolar.  Ask him for a copy of the research.  I'd definitely want it.  APs are fattening and doing no exercise is a problem in itself.

  3. if you want to recover follow your doctor's advice. When you exercise your mood change it's like turning the heat on in your system and you are trying to mend the earth quake in your mind so it's not good to shake your brain any further you want to be as calm as possible for your mind to heal.

  4. Heavenly gave such a great and spot on answer also tested by my own experiences too, exercise gets adrenalin and serotonin pumping in the brain, creates lotsa brain activity and energy, and as schizophrenia, anxiety, depression etc are down to small chemical inbalances it's a good idea to avoid heavy exercise  relax and heal. Gentle walking is therapeutic and fine.

  5. I would suggest that you get a second a opinion. Going without excercise is bad for your health in the long run, with the risk of obesity, diabetes, and heart problems. If your doctor isn't explaining things properly to you, then they're not doing their job properly. Please seek further professional advice for the sake of your general well being.
