Ya people are harsh on him, he is not that bad of a player just bad for a #1 pick overall. But its not his fault they took him First overal in the draft.

Because he was drafted number one. When he came into the league, people were calling him the second coming of Bill Russell and a bunch of other ridiculous stuff. But everyone had one little knock: He needed to develop better ball skills. Thing is, he never developed any ball skills at all due to small hands and a relatively lazy attitude. So he still to this day has the rawness of a high school center. If he had went on to develop as people expected, he would have been a slightly less athletic Dwight Howard by now. But he didn't so now he's simply a popular NBA punchline.

when you are a number 1 pick as he was, expectations are gonna be very high.. he hasnt lived up to expectations whatsoever.. he had a chance to learn from the greatest ever, mj, but instead he was immature and didnt work hard.. he has the athleticism and good height to be a good nba player but he hasnt worked hard to become a very good player.. he will go down as one of the biggest all time busts ever.. he is the posterchild for the argument that high school kids shouldnt be allowed to go straight to the nba..

The major concern with fans is this #1 draft pick career average high was 12 ppg and 9rpg, his ball handling skills are horendous. Which for most players is key to being a good player, He's been a huge letdown from day 1 and doesn't deserve to be appreciated as a true NBA player.

People will praise him if he was drafted 60th overall. But other than being a bust, he was also arrogant. He said Jordan would not regret picking him 1st overall. Instead of being humble, he continues his arrogance. He is a lower level Derrick Coleman.

He can be a good basketball player based on his size and physique. The problem with Kwame is attitude. I think he is afraid to learn and contented on just being big. He should add more heart,desire, and discipline in playing basketball.

If he was a late 1st rounder or a 2nd rounder, he would be considered decent since his career lasted more than 5 years.  As a #1 overall pick, he's pathetic.  Even Michael Olowokandi had at least a few respectable seasons.

People had high expectations, 1st Overall Pick, and when he didnt live up to it, he got bashed trashed. (Stephen A. Smith "Kwaaamaayy Brown")

Now if he was a late 1st rounder-2nd round pick, I'd say he turned out to be decent, not-solid-not-bad. He's a decent defender and has a big body to bang downlow. I'd say his first 2 years  in Washington was decent, he was athletic before, even though he had dwarf hands. dont forget that MJ destroyed this kids confidence.

when he got traded to LA, he needed to bulk up (or prbbly just got fat lol) because LA needed a center. and well, he's in LA so he went to parties every night. and I think he has  a poor work ethic.

He could turn out to be a decent backup center. but not a solid presence.
