  1. There's no such thing as an Indian Princess unless it's a title in a Native American beauty contest.  The title of Chief was and is an elected rather than an hereditary position chosen from members of the tribal council.

  2. I am Native American. There is no such thing as "royalty" in any native nation. There is a system of chiefdoms.

  3. yep but at least you know that they like mother earth and they only take what they need and give thanks to any animals they take

  4. The concept of European Royalty (Kings, Queens, etc.) is a foreign concept to the American Indian Community. It was the Europeans that called Headmen (Chiefs) the terms "Kings", or "Emperors" and also called the daughters of Headmen (Chiefs) the term "Princesses".

Nowadays, the closest to "Royalty" that the American Indian Community has is through an American Indian Beauty Pageant or through a tribal Pow-Wow Princess system which both are done through an "annual elimination and selection process" among various American Indian Nations.

Unfortunately, there are alot of people who claim Cherokee ancestry who are saying that they are "Cherokee Princess" or that their Grandmother or Great-Grandmother was a "Cherokee Princess". When a person makes such a statement, that person is given the term of "Wannabe Indian" or "Wannabe Cherokee" by the American Indian Community. Both terms are something that you WANT TO AVOID being put on you at all costs within the American Indian Community.

By the way, I am of Cherokee Indian and Choctaw Indian ancestry.

    AHO!

  5. No, Native American royalty really has never existed.  It was the early settlers who called the daughters of the Indian chiefs "Princess"
