I'm thinking very seriously about getting a corn snake soon and considering that they can live for upwards of 15 years and I am planning to join the RAF next year, I was wondering what the deal with pets are? I know there will be a small amount of time during selection and induction where a pet would be inappropriate but how soon can I expect to be able to keep a pet if at all?

    NOTHING said abot ANY pets

  3. it is very hard to keep any kinds of pets if you are single and in military service.  there is boot camp and then moving to your new station and you could move at any time during your service.  my husband is navy (us) and we have 5 snakes (had to cut down from 24) and 2 dogs and its hard to be moved around with animals would be impossible for 1 person in the service.  but i know in the us military we would be allowed to have animals if we lived in base housing (we chose to live off base right now).
