  1. They are to cats, so I guess they are poisonous to other animals.

    If you mean to people yes.

    Two of the Arums, used as house plants, philodendron (Philodendron) and dumbcane (Diffenbachia) contain toxins that will cause the throat to swell to the point of suffocation when the leaves are eaten.


  2. Philodendron leaves, if eaten, are very irritating.  Not really toxic.
